What is PTE exam?

The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is an English language competency test that is needed in many countries throughout the world for education, job, and immigration. It is intended to measure non-native speakers’ English language competence who need to study or work in an English-speaking setting. The PTE exam consists of three sections: speaking and writing, listening, and reading. It is graded on a scale of 10 to 90, with higher scores signifying greater English competence. Universities, companies, and immigration agencies in nations such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada all recognise the PTE test.

 

What is the importance of the PTE Exam?

Types of PTE exam

The Pearson Language Tests conduct the exams in 4 formats:

  • PTE Academics
  • PTE Academic UKVI
  • PTE Home
  • PTE at Home.

 

The IELTS  Academic test is one of two versions of the exam, the other being the IELTS General Training test. The IELTS Academic exam is intended for candidates who wish to study at the undergraduate or postgraduate level, or who wish to work in a professional sector that needs a high level of English language ability. The test is divided into four sections: hearing, reading, writing, and speaking, and it is graded on a scale of 1 (non-user) to 9 (expert) (expert user). The IELTS Academic test is more academic in nature than the IELTS General Training test, and it assesses the test taker’s ability to understand and apply language in an academic setting.

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) exam is a version of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam that is specifically designed for test takers who need to demonstrate their English language proficiency for immigration purposes in the United Kingdom or for the international Students. The UK government accepts the IELTS for UKVI exam as proof of English language proficiency for visa, settlement, and citizenship applications. In terms of content and score, it is identical to the normal IELTS exam, but it is delivered differently and the test results are submitted to the UK government.
